District Parent Advisory Council (DPAC)

It is the policy of the Board of Education to support and promote effective, systematic two-way communication within the educational organization and with the citizens of Burnaby, and to make available information about programs, practices and policies so that the community can exercise its right to influence the operation of its schools, and so that citizens can contribute to and influence educational decisions.

It is also the policy of the Board that each school shall have an ongoing mechanism and process which provides for consultation with, and input by, the parents, in regards to the program and general operations of the school. The form of the parent school body shall be at the discretion of the local school/home community.

Consistent with the above policies, it is the Board’s desire to meet with representatives of these local school committees to provide periodic input to the Board on programs, practices, policies and issues related to school district operations.

The District Parent Advisory Council is guided by a Constitution. They meet  the third Monday of each month at Burnaby Central Secondary, 6011 Deer Lake Parkway at 7 pm.
(Note: meeting in December or June through August)
