You have logged in and are at the page you wish to edit. Go to the Main Content tab section that you want to create a link to a document(e.g. newsletter/calendar PDF).
First you need to place the document on the web server > click the 'Insert Document' button.
The Document Manager panel will appear:
Double click the folder 'News' as we are planning to link a newsletter > for calendars you would place the document in the obvious folder as well; otherwise just upload your document here > or even make a New folder...
The breadcrumb indicates to you that you are now in /documents/news folder > where exactly you want to be.
To upload your document, you will 'Choose File' button as shown above.
From there you will look on your computer/network what file you need uploaded.
Once you find your file (ChalktalkforEducators_Oct2010.pdf), you will click the 'Open' button & let the computer do the work for you.
The document (ChalktalkforEducators_Oct2010.pdf) now resides on the web server where it needs to live:
Once you have closed the Document Manager (the 'X' on the right side on the document manager) > your document is where it needs to be > we go back to our text - 'October Newsletter' and highlight the word/or phrase:
Click the 'Insert/Edit Link' button:
Click the folder button to browse to your document/file that you want linked:
Double-click the 'documents' folder/directory > we know that is where we uploaded the PDF to:
We have clicked in the /documents/news folder > we select our document (ChalktalkforEducators_Oct2010.pdf) > click the 'Select File' button:
The document will be listed in the Link > you should also consider setting the 'Target' as Open in new window (so the website is always accessible beyond the document) and click the 'Insert' button:
The link is created! Yahoo success!:
To unlink a word/or phrase > just highlight the said link and click the unlink button > voila! link unlinked:
