Interdisciplinary Skills Trades Exploration Program (i STEP)

A unique program providing Grade 10 students the opportunity to explore Industry Training Programs including ACE-IT, Industry Certification and Industry Connect.

Students combine academic studies and skills exploration in multiple trades and industry disciplines to fulfill graduation requirements. Areas of study include: Mechanics, Robotics, Electrical, Electronics, Carpentry, Welding, Plumbing, Metal Fabrication, and 3D Printing Applications.

LEARNING TO WORK – WORKING TO LEARN

  • Learn about and explore careers in apprenticeship
  • Develop job-ready and problem solving skills
  • Gain hands-on experience using machinery and hand tools
  • Work with other students in a collaborative team environment
  • Work with specialized teachers on practical projects
  • Consider and/or prepare for transition to Industry Training Programs
